A BEAUTIFUL WILLOW SPRINGS WINERY WEDDING

So, there's a funny story about the start of the day photographing this lovely wedding. I arrived early at the house for "getting ready" photos with Sara, her bridesmaids and the moms as well. After knocking a few times and trying the doorbell as well - still no answer. So, I double checked my directions and even chatted with a neighbour to see if I was in the right location? They confirmed that I was, so I called Nate, the groom, and he chuckled and promptly called someone to let me in. It had turned out that they were having so much fun getting ready and chatting, that they hadn't heard any of my attempts. LOL. I bring this anecdote up because it REALLY informs what kind of day it was. A fun filled day with plenty of laughter!

Mark, my second shooter was hanging out with the guys and photographing their "getting ready", at a different location. We then met up at the venue, Willow Springs Winery, as planned. This being both of our first times shooting a wedding here, we took 5 minutes to walk the grounds and do a little bit of pre-scouting for photos. It's a great way to see how the light is that day in certain spots and it allows us to come up with a kind of a game plan for the day. First on our agenda was a "first look" location. The bride and groom had requested this happen prior to the ceremony. We love these! They're usually very emotion filled and honestly, I'm sure, help to get some wedding day anxiousness and jitters out of the way.

After this we had some fun with the wedding party. We like to encourage this! Photography doesn't have to be super serious. We want everyone to just be themselves and be comfortable in front of the camera.

The ceremony was a dreamy location, overlooking the pond. Willow trees and photography sure do go hand in hand. Such was our good fortune that the sun was starting to create a golden glow, illuminating the fields and the vines, perfect for some bride/groom portraits!

After dinner, drinks and speeches, everyone danced the night away under the tent. A perfect ending to a perfect day :)
